The BUPA Murrayfield nursing team work very closely with the surgeons to ensure you receive a high standard of care. Cecilia and Pam head the team of plastic surgery nurses.

For more major surgical procedures Cecilia or Pam will offer you a pre-operative appointment to go over your personal and medical requirements. This gives you a further opportunity to discuss your hospital stay and perhaps get a less surgical perspective!

When you arrive on the ward you will be greeted by the team and have a further opportunity to discuss things with both nursing staff, your anaethetist and of course your surgeon.

In the post operative team, although you will be in a single room, the nurses will check on you very regularly and can of course be called for by the touch of a button. They will ensure your comfort and safety.

On discharge you wll be given instructions about self care and in particular, when necessary, pain relieving medication.

Once at home, if you have any concerns, you can of course call us at any time.

Your follow up care will be undertaken by both the specialist nurses and your surgeon at intervals appropriate to your requirements. Your surgeon will ultimately discharge you from further routine follow ups.
